Chelsea is one of my oldest friends. Doing her family pictures is more like hanging out with one of my oldest friends. We talk about when we were young (we have been friends since we were 5) we talk about High School, and we talk about our moms...who were also best friends. I love that we are still close, and I love even more that she trusts me to capture her sweet family every year. This time around her Mama came along so we could snap a few photos of her with her grand-baby...so sweet!

Sandi and her family were a referral from my amazing client Amanda...she is my referral QUEEN! It is amazing how many clients she has sent my way! I love her to bits! And it makes me so happy that she is so happy with me and her experience with me that she sends everyone my way.

Sandi warned me ahead of time, that I needed to be quick, because her family didn't enjoy photos. I can't tell you how many times I hear this! haha. I think I am officially the worst blogger EVER! I get so busy with the edits for my clients the last thing I update is my blog....so here is my shout out to go over and become a fan on FB I am pretty good about updating sessions as they happen over there!

I met Jenn and Cole when I shot their wedding back in August. They are DARLING, and I just adore them and their sweet kids! Jenn is also a twin...her sister Jess's new baby's photos to be posted soon! I tend to tell people, if you want a posed photographer, I am NOT your gal. I am all about chasing the kids around. Bribing them with treats, and well doing basically anything I have to in order to capture your little ones personality.

So I am sure that everyone thinks their nieces are the cutest...but I think they are mistaken...actually I KNOW they are! Because MINE are the cutest! I just love them so so so much, and they are the most ADORABLE girls EVER! :) Just check it out below, and you will see! This was not a photo shoot, just 2 afternoons spent with my sweet nieces. These are the photos that I love. The ones that you will look back in 15 years and remember the personality of your little one. Lifestyle shoots. Interaction of a family, or child. This little guy was so stinking cute! When I started shooting I wanted to be a children's photographer. As you read in my post below I LOVE weddings. I love a couple in love. But there is something about a small child's lack of inhibition. Joy in the little things, like a hairspray bottle in this little guys case. Knox is now 1 year, I hope to see a lot more of this sweet family! They were so much fun and so adorable!

So if I am honest when I started shooting, I said I didn't want to shoot weddings. I just didn't think I would enjoy it. I am single, never been married, so what would I enjoy about it? Well -- it is official, I LOVE weddings. I love spending that special day with the couple. I love the look in their eyes after they have been married. I adore watching the sweet hubbies trying to carry their new brides train, and stealing kisses when they think no one else is watching. I just love it all...

I was able to do little E's newborn pictures, and now his 3 month photos. He has grown SO much! I can't even believe it! But he is still as adorable as ever! Thanks Windy, I had so much fun chatting with you while snapping these 2 little guys photos!

Importance...

On Friday I lost my best friend.
I lost the one "person" that has been there for me non stop for the past three and a half years. She has been there through tough break ups, lost friends, betrayals, depression, moves, broken engagements, happiness and despair. She loved me unconditionally. She was the first one there when I cried. Cuddled me when I was sick. And bossed me around non stop.

I post this not to make you sad, but just mainly as a reminder of how important your photos are. I know that we all don't have money to go out and get family photos taken all of the time. But even those snapshots in every day life can become so priceless. I can not tell you how many times that I thought to myself I WISH I had my camera right now...oh well I'll get it next time. But what if there isn't a next time? Within 48 hours my poor little puppy went from 100% healthy, to being put down due to a serious back injury. I was fortunate enough to be able to take her home and spend the day with her. I was able to capture a few moments. But how I wish I had all of those other moments. So please if anything take this as encouragement to not miss out on doing your family pictures, snapping a few of your children, or your pets. Because you really NEVER know when will be the last time you will have that opportunity. And you never know when that snapshot or portrait will become absolutely priceless...

I was so excited when she called and inquired about me shooting her bridals and wedding day! It was a little windy, and I only almost fell like 5 times. If you know me, or have shot with me you know it is a normal occurance for me to almost fall off of things, out of trees, rolling my ankle or wrecking my car...it's just kind of how I roll ;) but really, I am simply one of the most accident prone people you will ever meet! Saturday felt like the first real day of spring. The weather was beautiful! Perfect day for family photos! I had such an amazing time with Brandon, Amanda and Daxton, they are seriously one of the cutest families EVER! And I adore every one of them! Dax, is a little explorer and chatter. He Loves the water and being naked! He was so fun to chase after and so cute climbing all over whatever he could set his sights on. When things got a little steep, he would drop to his knees and climb on down. When we would say smile, he would stick out his tunge! haha.

Sometimes I feel the need to pinch myself...people actually pay me to do what I love! What more could a girl want?

New Camera...

So 2 weeks ago after finishing up shooting a wedding my dear camera decided to break. Thankfully the shoot was over and I had all the images on the card in my pocket. I was stunned. And very sad. You see my life and love is shooting. I felt so lost with out my camera. I consumed my every thought. I believe that all photographers should really have 2 cameras, just in case. You really never know what is going to happen. So for this reason I had been thinking about buying a new camera to add to my collection. So today I took some personal time from work and headed down to Pictureline. Yes I could have bought my camera cheaper online, but I love the people at Pictureline, plus I have a friend that works there. I would rather pay a little more and build that relationship. Anyhow, I now have my Canon 5D Mark II in hand...and can I say it was love at first sight? And I am pretty sure the feeling was mutual :)

My associate and I have a couple things up our sleeves for the next month!

For starters we are toying with the idea of doing a "Basics Workshop". This workshop would be just that, the basics of how to use your camera, what aperture, ISO and shutter speed are, shooting in manual etc. Basically how to run your DSLR. If you are interested in this oppertunity please let me know by either posting a comment or emailing me at SJaneImages@gmail.com.

Also, we are looking into FAB locations for "Sweetheart Mini Sessions" These sessions will run 30-45 minutes, include 10 fully edited medium resolution images with copyright release and an 8x10 for the extremely low price of $99. ONE in EIGHT women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. To help combat this overwhelming statistic, I?ve decided to strap on a pair of snowshoes and participate in the annual Tubbs Romp to Stomp out Breast Cancer Snowshoe Series®.

The Romp to Stomp is a snowshoe walk or race that benefits the Salt Lake City Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®--an organization that supports community-based breast health education, and screening and treatment programs focusing on underserved and uninsured women. 75% of the funds raised at the Romp to Stomp will benefit local communities and the remaining 25% will go to support national research to help find a cure.

Crystals Headshots...and the blue eyed boy

We ventured out in the snow today...it seems that 90% of the time that Crystal and I shoot together it is either snowing or bitter cold...today was no different! Crystal needed some updated headshots for her business...for those of you that don't know Crystal is one of my BFF's and Mentor...she is AMAZING...and stunning!! And I love her to death...anyhow we were able to get a few shots before Jamison, the sweetest little blue eyed boy got too cold and told his mom it was time to go home...enjoy!
